Tomorrow Bremenhaven face the Karlsruhe Lions. Before the season, many considered Karlsruhe clear playoff contenders, but their season so far has been inconsistent. One reason for this: injury problems at home team. They sit one win behind the Eisbaren with a 3-4 record, but with two wins, their tally is trending upwards.

I saw the Lions play once this season – when they performed quite well with a 7.5-player rotation, Binapfl and George were outstanding.

Good news for Karlsruhe is Pluskota and George will be back tomorrow, very important players.

On guest side Parolin and Blunt are still unavailable, I see Karlsruhe as slide favorite becouse. With Parolin playing, it would be a 50/50 game for Bremenhaven, but he is out, also long journey and a short rotation are not an advantage in a matchup between two evenly matched teams.

The duel between the coaches will also be interesting: Naciri is always rather calm and reserved, while Greene is practically playing on the sidelines.

One of the positive trend in Bremenhaven especially, is defensive performance, then a bit of luck with the three points – let’s see what happens. But one thing: after the cup game, I had absolutely no idea how this team could stabilize defensively. It was a complete mess. Now, at times, it’s looking quite decent. The two new injuries are simply bad luck for guest team on top of that.

I expekt even match but Karlsruhe to cover this handicap at the end under this circumstances..
